Soups On goes above and beyond answering the call for soup with their new location in Atlantic Beach. This teeny tiny spot right off Atlantic Blvd has been open about three weeks and already seems to be enjoying the same success as its well-established Riverside location. When it comes to lunch, I positively CRAVE a good soup and sandwich. I mean, really, is there anything lunchier? Warm, bready sandwiches dipped in brothy, comforting goodness is as good as it gets for me, even in the sweltering heat of early September. I stopped in today to grab a bite with a friend and, as soon as I opened the door, the aroma of simmering, savory concoctions rushed to my nose. With a constantly changing selection of hot soups like Maryland Crab, Vegan Kale and Lentil, and classic French Onion, Soups On offers up the broth for a variety of palettes and personalities. Always the fungus lover, I decided on the Hungarian Mushroom soup today. You can also feed on a selection of salads and sandwiches that serve as great soup companions but are also hearty enough to stand on their own. I chose the Roasted Eggplant with Goat Cheese to round out my pair. As I waited for my food I took in the vibe at Soups On. Little two-seater tables handpainted with bright representations of classic soups like Broccoli Cheddar and Gazpacho lined the teeny dining room while brightly colored paintings of mushrooms, tomatoes, squash and more adorned the walls. Yep, this place is pretty simple, simple and adorable. My food came out looking too good to be true! A sizable bowl of paprika-colored soup served up alongside a positively picturesque cheesy, eggplant sandwich. I dug in and was pleasantly surprised to note the rich uniqueness of the flavors. This is not your run of the mill watery soup, people! Savory, creamy, mushroomy soup coated my belly as the melty warmth of the sandwich satisfied my serious lunchtime hunger. I felt like I ate and ate and ate but still had to box up a few bites to bring home. All in all a GREAT bargain for under $10! If for some reason you don't get your soup fix satisfied in house, customers are invited to peruse the cooler of take-home pints of frozen stews like the Artichoke and Marscapone Cheese Soup or the Lentil and Kielbasa Sausage. I'm definitely going to remember that next time I'm stocking the fridge!

This place was meant for me. They mean business when they say "soup's on!" With a giant cooler full of frozen pints of home-concocted soups to take home, I doubt I could have begun to count the variety of options. No preservatives, just soup. Glancing at the menu, I immediately liked what I saw. Soups broken up by dietary preference: Vegan, Vegetarian, Seafood, Beef, Chicken. (They aren't labeled precisely like that, but it's the general idea) I've enjoyed all three of the vegetarian sandwiches that are offered. A sandwich and soup (cup) combo is enough for lunch plus leftovers. The combo is offered with a range of 4 sizes varying from cup to pint. I cant wait to get back to try some of their salads! Havent been able to resist the sandwiches with their hearty bread, plus two slices of sourdough (?) alongside the soup. Yum yum yum. Go get you some. Last time I went, I overheard a customer raving about the tea and one of their desserts. Wish I could have better hearing! Will have to sort the matter out myself, I suppose...

Had the soup and sandwich combo (African peanut and tomato mozzarella) Both were delicious! The bread is also good as well. I had an unsweetened green tea to drink, which was refreshing. I believe they also make their own soda. I will return!

My favorite place for soup in Jax. Not been feeling to well for some days and told myself I needed soup in my system. Decided to check my bookmarked locations and finally check out Soup's On. (It's been bookmarked since I checked out one of Nate's videos "on deck") I make the drive out and completely miss the small store and had to do a crazy U-Turn during rush hour and slide into a tight parking spot. It was Fast & Furious worthy driving. Not much to the place. Small counter with a clerk dishing out the soups of the day. On the back wall is a freezer filled with frozen soups. Two people were ahead of me just scrolling through. Reminds me of the old school Blockbuster new release wall. I was hoping to find something with pumpkin. No luck but I decide on an Enchilada soup instead. I grab it out the freezer and turn to see the same people that were glued to the freezer earlier are now staring as a chalk board that I completely missed high on the wall. Now I'm starring at the wall trying to make life decisions on what exactly I'm gonna get hot to go. It would be neat if there was some bingo like chart where I could mark out soups as I try them. I decide on the Puerto Rican fish soup. I guess I was missing Chilango & Boricua flavors? Attentive server wraps everything up and I do some tight 3 point turn to leave the parking lot - while someone else tightly slides into my spot. Parking can become a hazard here. The Fish soup tasted like my childhood best friend's aunt's Bacalao. Nice chunky portions of fish, tomato, and peppers. News were a nice addition. Paired it with the soft yet crusty French bread provided, also a few maduros and slices of avocado. Two shots of nyquil and I was out for the night. The next day I take the Enchilada to work. It's in the microwave for 3 minutes and smells up the whole office. Everyone is thinking I went out for take out but I'm neatly spooning up a chunky bowl of all the flavors of my favorite enchiladas. I stopped to take a pic! (Trey Songs in my head) I'm about to diving in! I was tempted to make a Vine video. Great homemade soups. Now if they could only open up a third location between West and Beaches.

Admittedly, I eat here a few times a week. This is hands down, some of the best food at the beach. Everything is fresh and everything but the bread is made in house...even the ketchup and pickles. Everyday they have French Onion, Chicken Noodle, NE Clam Chowder and most days Maryland Crab soup. Then they have at least 5 or 6 other soups to choose from that change from day to day. I think I have tried about 75% of their soups. I have so many favorites I cannot list them. If you haven't been, you're missing out.

Wow! I just started a new job this past week, and it being a rainy day I was in the mood for soup. I found Soup's On, and they now have a fan forever! I ordered the Ham, Bacon, and Corn Chowder, and it is FANTASTIC! Only $5 a bowl, you also get a nice chunk of bread to go along with it. I took it to-go, but they have a small area to sit in and eat. I cannot wait to try other soups in the near future. If you love soup, then you'll love Soup's On!

Great soup. Really something special in a day where most places heat up prepared foods. All fresh ingredients made in store. The staff is not very friendly though. It may be that they are just too busy. They r serious about soup though. I don't think they realize the importance of personality on the success of the restaurant.

Excellent homemade soup. Like the kind you would make yourself if you had time. And knew how to make delicious homemade soup. NOTE : they have a new sign that says "Potato Sack" but it's still Soup's On! I prefer vegan and vegetarian soups, and they always have lots to choose from. Really interesting combinations too. A bowl of soup equals two nice servings for me, and it comes with bread too for $5! Can't say much about the service, as we always pick up soup to go.

I definitely made fun of Soup's On a number of times while driving past (goofy sign, goofy name, a soup place located on a beach is inherently pretty funny) but when I finally decided to drop in for lunch, I was extremely pleasantly surprised. This is a soup place that is serious about their soup. There's a giant cold case packed with dozens of sizes & types of take-home soups, the menu rotates fairly regularly as far as I can tell, and they offer a handful of sandwiches & salads as well. I've dined in twice and gotten takeout once, so far. Dining in is a little awkward because all the tables are barely large enough for two people - it's a small location, sure, but a couple of 4-tops could fit at the expense of some waiting-in-line space. So takeout is a good option, as is calling ahead, as the sandwiches take a little while to prepare and the lunch rush seems to get pretty serious. The soups I've had have all been very fresh and nice, miles ahead of most every other non-fancy-restaurant soup. There are a number of vegan and vegetarian options, and I have a vegan coworker that swears by the place. I've found in general their soups are little short on seasoning, but a little salt & pepper will do wonders (I assume it has to be a health-food thing to undersalt and leave the seasoning up to the diner). If you're ordering a sandwich, be aware they're also a little short on condiments - last time I ate in the tables only had hot sauce and Old Bay, so if you wanted mustard on your turkey melt or whatever you were out of luck. (Hot sauce on the banh mi sandwich I ordered, though: wonderful.)

A must visit. Don't let the curb appeal keep you away. Great spot with EXCELLENT food. Too bad I fly to JAX on business and can't take some home from their take home freezer of soups!

Absolutely in love with Soup's On. I'm a soup snob and I simply can't get enough of their fresh and preservative free creations. Stopped in for the second time and am astounded by the Italian Wedding Soup. I also like all the gluten free options and use of creative ingredients. Lots of international spices and flavor combos make for creative takes on traditional favorites. Plenty of mentions on here about their freezer full of soup, which is a great last min idea if you are looking for easy dinner plans for the whole family. Might as well stock up. Had a great conversation with a regular and he couldn't stop raving. They should have him there every day. He sold me on the Italian Wedding Soup that even my four year old can't get enough of. Also picked up the Spicy chicken butternut squash. Why choose one? The atmosphere reminds me of a casual lunch in grandmas kitchen. Perfect for a private lunch meeting. Great for all foodies!

This afternoon I slipped into the Soups On Restaurant on Atlantic in Atlantic Beach. I had a bowl of pork and rice noodle soup. It was not what I expected. It was better. It was delicious, the restaurant was clean and neat. The server was clean polite and truly glad I chose his establishment to have lunch at. I eat here about once a month and never have been disappointed with what I ordered. I heartily recommend the "Soups On". I challenge any one to find a better bowl f soup in the Jacksonville area.

I'm pretty picky when it comes to choosing where and what I eat...with that said, my boyfriend and I just tried this place and it was FABULOUS! Great price for a bowl of soup and sandwich, with a pretty great range of choices considering its all homemade. They give samples of all of their soups as well which is a plus. The service was pleasant...friendly and not too excessive. I can't wait to go back and try breakfast!

I work downtown and been to the Riverside soups on and I occasionally drop by here to eat lunch on weekends . The places are worlds apart, although they do both serve wonderful tasting soups. I took my kids one Saturday and our group tried: Italian Wedding - It makes you want to go to Florence and renew your vows or marry that high school sweetheart who contacted you on Facebook. Enchilada - Como Se Yummy. It was a tortilla in a cup with a real depth in the layers of flavoring. Anything with Sweet Potato - If it says sweet potato is an ingredient, try it, because it will be Southern delicious. Onion - always on the menu for a reason, but eat it only once so you don't miss the other fantastic choices when you return. Maryland Crab - I brought my crab forks but thankfully they did not have me shuck my own crabs, but it did make me remember summers in Maryland. Service was pleasant, not hurried and we got to sample just about everything they served that day.

Their sandwiches and soups are some of the best I've had in Jacksonville, I'm currently obsessed with their roast beef sandwich with arugula and horseradish sauce- as well as their chicken enchilada soup! I've never tried something from soups on that I didn't like, so delicious!

Outstanding!!! I couldn't make up my mind so I bought two pints. For lunch it's Bok Choy, Shiitake, Rice Noodles & Pork, and for dinner it's Hungarian Mushroom!! Plus, it's walking distance from work. Bonus! My new favorite lunch spot.

This place is awesome for soups and sandwiches. Check their website and order ahead for a quick pickup. Like others have mentioned, they've always got something interesting in the freezer, for those times you just want to hit the start button on the microwave for dinner, but still want to eat healthier than a box of Kraft Mac and cheese. The place itself is tiny, pretty barebones and in a hard to locate spot (good for practicing your U turn skills!) on Atlantic Blvd, but definitely worth the traffic troubles. The staff is super nice if you've got questions. Just be patient, some times it's a one person show behind the counter. The ancho chile chicken soup, basil chicken, chipotle ham and beans have all been tasty treats I've enjoyed there. As for sandwiches, the chicken w Rosemary is lick your lips good. I also like their take on banh mi, though I've, gasp, not yet had authentic, so I cannot speak to that. Be adventurous! I'm pretty sure you won't regret it.

Soup's On on (first time I've ever used that word back to back in a sentence) Atlantic Blvd is worth all the challenges necessary to enjoy a terrific meal. I had the red bean rice soup with arugula/pear salad and my bride had the minestrone soup and salad. Both dishes were excellent. Plenty of vegan, vegetarian, and gluten free options on the menu and roast beef/chicken/pork selections for others. Great take out available too. Yes the parking lot is tiny. Yes the store is small and would have problems seating groups larger than 4. Yes the large menu and multiple combinations make first time ordering a little pressurized. Yes the 2 person staff was taking orders, cooking, serving, cleaning, cashing out customers as fast as possible, but were not engaging anyone in small talk. YES, I will go out of my way to get back to Soup's On on (second time, ha ha!) a regular basis.

After finishing a good workout I wanted a light but tasty dinner. I recalled seeing Soup's On several times on my way home from the beach. So, I decided to stop in and check out the soup. I wasn't sure what to expect but I was pleasantly surprised to see such a variety of soups and sandwiches. With corn and crab bisque, beef chili, maryland crab, lentil and kielbasa, french onion and cheese, curry split pea soup and butternut squash and apple soup, I was torn. Whittling the options down to the curry split pea soup and the butternut squash and apple soup, I turned to the guy behind the counter for advice. He recommended the butternut squash and apple soup. It was warm, smooth and sweet. It basically just melted in my mouth. The warm bread soaked up the last drops and it was such a pleasant departure from my typical hearty dinners.

Have to say im dissappointed after reading all the wonderful reviews. Maybe i came in at an off time (3pm on a friday) and got their more depressing and quiet staff, i dunno. My soup wasnt even hot enough to melt the cheese, which is a must for any french onion soup in my opinion. And as far as i can tell, he just scooped up some beef stock with onions on top of one cheese slice. Wheres the heartiness i expected?? So sad :/ not terrible, just dissappointing

After frequenting the Soups on Location in Riverside, I was beyond ecstatic when they opened their Atlantic Beach location. And even better, this location has the same look and feel and seems like it has been there forever. Last night I wan't feeling well and the only thing on my mind was Soups on Maryland Crab soup. Lucky for me, I was able to check their website and found out that they did indeed have it. Although the Maryland Crab is my favorite, I have tried many of their vegetarian and vegan soup selections and have never been disappointed. And if for some reason I'm not in the mood for the soups they have that day, I just check their freezer and find something that sounds good to me. Even better, Soups on has delicious sandwiches and salads because let's face it, although I can eat soup any time, sometimes when it's 90 degrees outside the person I'm with may not be feeling a hot soup. Their sandwiches are on the freshest bread and they salads are simple, yet delicious. Furthermore, their tea (which you can opt for sweetened or not) is a great addition to the fabulous food. Honestly, I have nothing negative to say about this restaurant and will continue to frequent it as often as I can :)

Best sandwiches in Jacksonville hands down! The chicken salad is to die! I have yet to find a soup I LOVE, but they are all good, just not outstanding in my opinion.

Fresh soups and delicious sandwiches. Reasonably priced. I could eat soup every meal and this place is a favorite!
